The Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress 2020 (FASAVA 2020) has canceled its annual international congress due to COVID-19 concerns.
The cancellation was announced on June 19th in an email from FASAVA to registered attendees, the letter signed by Walasinee Sakcamdung, the Chairperson of the FASAVA 2020 Congress.
“The FASAVA 2020 organizing committee has been closely monitoring the WHO and CDC websites, the information from Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, and other sources regarding COVID- 19 pandemic situation. The committee has been also monitoring the global response of containment and mitigation on COVID-19 and its impact on our members, associations, institutions, corporations, and other stakeholders. We have been continuously evaluating our next steps, as some major events are being canceled or postponed. Taking these into consideration, after much discussion, the cancellation of the FASAVA 2020 congress, scheduled for 4-6 November 2020, Thailand, is the right course of action based on the travel restrictions and advisories imposed by Governments and others in order to protect public health due to COVID-19 pandemic.” They wrote….
The FASAVA also asks further information from its registrants in order to process sponsorship and/or exhibitor refunds.
“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to your continuous support through these challenging times.” As stated in the letter.
